About Joshua

After graduating from high-school at the age of 17 with honors and top of his class in both Visual Arts and Communications Technology, Joshua began his Post Secondary Education looking to extend his knowledge in the arts. He quickly gravitated towards digital media which only seemed natural due to his being raised on a Mac.

That summer Joshua got the good news that he was accepted to Sheridan College’s Media Arts Program (Oakville, Ontario, Canada). There he expanded his knowledge of the arts as well as his knowledge in computer programs such as; Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, After Effects, Final Cut Pro and many more.

In his second year or schooling, Joshua was confronted by his father who in 1989 began a website design firm by the name of MRPwebmedia. Joshua’s father figured with his son’s brand new education in media such as web design, graphic design, and film and video production, Joshua would be an asset to the company. So, he ask Joshua to join him in the family business. Joshua accepted his father’s offer and began working with him while finishing school.

After graduating from college in April of 2004, Joshua left the family business and began working as a contractor for various companies such as; Stealing Time (an editing house known for cutting commercials for Burger King, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Mr. Clean and many others); Specialty Board Games (the makers of the popular DVD board game series’ CSI, WWE and Nascar); and InsightU (developers of interactive training tools for companies such as Future Shop and Best Buy).

This continued for a few years until Joshua realized there was something unsatisfying about these jobs. He had much more satisfaction working as his own boss. He also realized he could use more of his skills while running his own business. So, back to the family business he went where now his older brother Simon was working as an audio engineer after graduating from Harris Institute.

Upon returning to MRPwebmedia, Jerry, Joshua’s father, realized that with both his sons’ expertise in new media, the three of them could bring a whole new meaning to the word ‘website’. So, they began creating compelling content for the web and will continue to do so for many years to come.

As well as working at MRPwebmedia, Joshua also takes on various freelance jobs to pass the time.
